New Fabric Technique
I've been working on a new purse for the last two days, using a new (for me) technique. I found this in a book called "Fabricate", by Susan Wasinger. It is a great book with alot of sewing project ideas. This method, called "tumbled frays" was used in her book as a rug made out of denim. I applied it on a smaller scale for this purse. It was alot of work, but I love the results. Here are some preview pictures. I'm not quite done with the details yet. What do you think? (click on pics to enlarge)

Did I say something about neat??
When I said my room would never be neat again, I never expected this!!!! We got new carpet this week and everything was piled into my sewing room. I couldn't even get in the door!! Needless to say, I haven't been sewing -again....... Never ending interruptions...Between trying to figure out google this and etsy hacks that (I actually figured those out, way cool by the way) and blogging, hopefully I will get some new bags made soon!

Empty Nest Syndrome.......
The kids are grown and in homes of their own. Such a sad time...then I looked around. Oh My God!!! A guest room, I always wanted a nice guest room. I painted, got a nice new mattress for the bed, and they came. Real guests. Family from out of town, my daughter and her husband....I'm liking this! Another empty bedroom left. I've always wanted a craft room were I can make a mess and shut the door. So after a few months of arranging and re-arranging, here it is. Its sunny, cross breezes from the windows. Perfect!! Do-Rah designs was born! Of course there has been more tweaking, and it has never been quite this neat again. But it is all mine!!! Oh yea, I really, really do miss the kids.....
